Autism Group Demands CBS Apologize for ‘Big Brother’ Remark
NEW YORK A national autism advocacy group is requiring an apologia from CBS over a derogative remark a dissident on the world show “Big Brother” made about citizenry with the upset.
John Gilmore, executive manager of Autism United, articulated Monday that his group has existed trying to mouth with CBS executive directors since last week’s broadcast.
On that installment, an objector named Adam, who claims to do work for an autism foundation, articulated he would pass his profits on a whisker salon for citizenry with developmental disabilities “so retards can acquire it together and get their whisker done.”
His partner, Sheila, stated him: “Don’t call them that.”
Adam responded: “Disenabled kids. I can name them any I want. I work with them all mean solar day, OK?”
The show’s Web site draws him as a 29-year-old public dealings manager from Delray Beach, Fla.
There was no contiguous response Monday to a telephone call seeking comment from CBS.
“Big Brother” as well has existed condemned for contestants’ remarks on incest, race, ethnicity and intimate orientation. Some objectors have existed removed postdating incidents that existed deemed wild or racist.
